CARIM East - Consortium for Applied Research on International Migration

The CARIM-East project was a project of the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) from 2011 to 2013, which has conducted advanced research on global migration to serve migration governance needs at the European level, from developing, implementing and monitoring migration-related policies to assessing their impact on the wider economy and society.

CARIM-East was the first migration observatory focused on the Eastern Neighbourhood of the European Union.

The project covered all countries of the Eastern Partnership initiative (Belarus, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) and Russian Federation.

It was a joint initiative of European University Institute (EUI), Florence, Italy (the lead institution), and the Centre of Migration Research (CMR) at the University of Warsaw, Poland (the partner institution).
